Aristotle once said "Show me the child at seven and I’ll show you the man”. Profound words indeed, yet on reflection "bizarrely accurate".
It isn’t easy growing up with less than nothing, by this, I mean everything I ever owned, was pre-loved and gifted, clothes, shoes, bike, toys. I appreciated all that I received without resentment… However, Scotland’s dislocated system of child welfare left much to be desired.
As an eleven-year-old I became a London street kid, in many ways it was easier to survive spiritually in this environment, than what could only be described as a well-intentioned broken home, housing a fractured family.
London, is where the seed was planted for a future in Australia. Four years of surviving was time well invested. It was time manifesting a virtual world, visualising a future that included education, finding my place and creating a life worth living. A journey that began on my forced repatriation to Scotland in 1975.
Six years of catching up and determined focus produced results. It was a struggle learning to socialise and rebuild, a time of purposeful rebuilding that allowed me to step off a plane at Sydney airport. A first step that left me a tad nervous, yet, simultaneously excited. With a pocket full of loose change, nowhere to call home and jobless. The butterflies in my stomach meant only two things, I was either hungry, or something awesome was about to happen. Either way it was "Game on down under"...
Australia is everything you could imagine, and then some. Within two days of landing I was employed, had a roof over my head, and within 18 months had achieved my first steps toward a career in aviation. I was completely unprepared for how much Australia simply delivers from day one. "I fell in love, not just with Australia , but with my future". I am eternally greatfull and humbled for the opportunity Australia offered.
Australia truly is the gift that keeps on giving. Having no basic schooling to speak of, correcting this anomaly was going to take time. I Eventually obtained degrees in business management and economics, finally working through a dip ed. towards becoming a high school teacher.
Career opportunities came from everywhere, allowing me to either manage, directly operate or own a range of businesses in industries as diverse as construction, trades, international communication infrastructure, FMCG, food production, renewable energy and even a modern luxury day spa.
I now work to a 100-year life plan, one based on giving back, one that helps and supports those trying for a better life, creating a better world. I regularly recite my personal motto... "There's a lot of good needing done in the world today, Let's grab some of the action"... a mantra that has in no small way, kept me on an exciting and value laden path.
My dealings with family businesses highlighted common traits. Nearly all family or micro business had, in some way at least one commercial viability issue.
Something was not as it should be in our family business sector. Too many businesses were experiencing trading stress, and many were struggling to find effective support and guidance on how to navigate these crisis.
Finding then investing many thousands of hours, the "S=MC2" program was eventually realised, developing a full complement of unique end-to-end business tools and systems. Solution that proved every component, that "PROVIDES REAL SOLUTIONS" to real problems, for real family businesses in real-time.
The "S=MC2" team honestly believe the program is both a world first approach, and the most effective family business program available today. A solution driven approach delivering results, in a manner that puts "ZERO" stress on a businesses financial resources and maximises outcomes.
